We have to talk about some other families also to make sense of the intermixed family relations.

Punamchanda Doshi had two daughters and three sons:

Champabahen,  Somabhai, Keshvalal, Chandulal and Menabahen

Champa Bhen married  Panachand Limbabhai Gandhi and had one daughter Kanta Bhen(mumma) and one son Ramanbhai.
She passed away when her kids were small and her husband  married again to a lady from Padra (a small town near Baroda)
(fatechand uncle’s father is from Padra).  The new wife had four daughters and two sons.  One of these step-sisters of mumma is mother of Nayana  Aunty (Teli) and other is mother of Pankaj Uncle (Teli)  one step-brother is Mafat Bhai (we met him in Kapadvanj during our recent visit. He was there for breakfast)  Another step-brother was Rajendra  who married Indira (Chiman Kaka’s daughter).

Somabhai Doshi  and his wife Moti Bhen had one daughter, Lilavati, and three sons, Jesingbhai, Ramanbhai and Chinu. (Somabhai is mumma’s mama.)  Lilavati married Chiman Kaka and soon after she gave birth to Ramesh Bhai  she passed away when he was small, on the day of my mother and father’s wedding.  So Lilavati and Kanta Bhen (mumma) are  cousin-sisters  same way that you and Amisha are cousins. Ramesh Kaka called mumma, masi, and Sulochana Kaki as bhen.

Keshavalal Doshi  had one son name Mafatbhai and three daughters, one of the daughters was Shanta Bhen and was married to Gunvantlal Vadilal Gandhi, Sudha Kaki is their daughter. Keshvalal is also mumma’s mama and Shanta Bhen her cousin-sister, so Sudha Kaki called mumma as Mota Masi.  Also Ramesh Kaka’s mom and Sudha Kaki’s  mom are cousin-sisters they way you and Bharvi or Mohna are cousin-sisters.

A little more complications for Sula Kaki’s relation to our family are her multiple relations with Chiman Kaka’s family.  Chiman Kaka was originally married to Sula Kaki’s Masi and in this way he is her Masa.  After her marriage to Manu Kaka, he become her jeth. Also Chiman Kaka's eldest  daughter, Indira, married Rajendra who happens to be mumma’s step-brother and Kaki’s mama, so Indira is Sula Kaki’s Mami.  Another complication is when Mina (Chiman Kaka's other daughter) married  Niranjan Parikh.  Niranjan’s mother, who passed away when he was very young, was the sister of Ramanbhai Parikh (Sula Kaki’s father), so Niranjan is the cousin-brother of Kaki  they way Anand or Snehal are cousins of Amisha. In this way, Mina Foi is her kaki’s bhabi.
